Answer : Introduction: This particular research proposal has provided an in-depth understanding on the importance of employee evaluation on the hotel industry of Australia. It has been observed that a large number of popular hotels in Australia such as Hilton, IHG, Marriot, Accor and so many have faced a major challenges in order to create a market demand in the hospitality industry. It is undeniable that the success of a business especially hotel industry is highly dependent on customer service. The customer relation can be well maintained with the help of effective employee performance. In past few years, it has observed that employees in the hotel industries of Australia fail to provide an effective performance for fulfilling customers needs and demands due to the limited wage rate (austrade.gov.au). In addition, the lack of technological skill, lack of organizational culture, communication and psychological barriers, are one of the most effective reasons for identifying this particular research issue. This is one of the most important reasons of selecting this particular topic as a major issue of research proposal. The importance of employee evaluation for hotel industries of Australia is out an out significant over here. Research aims and objectives: This particular research proposal will aim to make a critical analysis on how the recognized hotels of Australia such as Hilton, IHG, Marriot and Accor tend to maintain employees relation at the workplace for maintaining employee motivation (AlBattat Som, 2013). The objectives of this particular research proposal are as follows: To critically evaluate the factors that highly affects the employee environment in hotel industry To understand the impact of employee evaluation at the hotel industries of Australia To recommend some ajor ways in order to reduce the internal employee issues of hotel industry Research Questions: What are the factors that highly influence the internal employee environment at the workplace of hotel industry? What are the impacts of employee evaluation within the hotel industry of Australia? What are the recommendations for minimizing the internal issues of Australian hotel industries? Rationale of the research: This particular research issue has left a major impact on the Australian hotel industries. It has been observed that employees in the recognizable hotels of Australia are facing major issues in order to provide an effective service process towards the organization (Assaf, Josiassen Cvelbar, 2012). The issues include shortage of labour and skills, lack of technological skills and efficiency, lack of collective decision-making, inefficient communication skill and so many. Therefore, this particular research issue has been selected in order to provide an in-depth overview on how the hotel industry of Australia is facing innumerable difficulties in order to satisfy the needs and demands of the customers effectively (Azzopardi Nash, 2013). The study will focus to highlight the ways on how the employees evaluation can be conducted within the hotels for providing effective service process to the employees.Literature Review Summary of ten articles: This particular study has provided an in-depth analysis on the ten articles based on the topic of importance of employee evaluation on the hotel industry of Australia. The report show that Australian hotel industry is facing innumerable challenges in order to maintain employee sustainability at the workplace due to insufficient wage rate, communication barrier, psychological barriers among the employees, in-efficient customer service policy and so on. In the first article, high-performance work practices and hotel employee performance: The mediation of work engagement, the author has pointed out that work engagement is highly necessary for rendering the success of business organization. Gin Choi, Kwon and Kim (2013) pointed out those employees in hotel industries are from various cultural backgrounds and attitudes. As a result, the employees have to face linguistic barriers with the customers as well as with the employees. In order to run a hotel successfully in the Australian market , the employees have to maintain professionalism. Effective communication skill is one of the major pathways of maintaining professionalism at the workplace. On the other hand, the second article, overcoming work-related stress and promoting employee creativity in hotel industry, has implied that business managers tend to keep the employees under stress. According to Graves, Sarkis and Zhu (2013), business employers are not flexible enough for maintaining effective relation with the workers. As a result, employees show their reluctance for providing effective services to the customers. The third article, effects of attitudes vs. experience of workplace fun on employee behaviours, has differed the opinion of previous article. In this article, the author has pointed out that only professionalism is not the only pathways for motivating employees. In addition, the organization has to focus on employee recreation session as well with the help of which the workers would gain energy for pr oviding effective service process. The article, effects of organizational work conditions on employee job satisfaction in the hotel industry, presents that employees performance in customer service is highly importance for maintaining organizational image and reputation. The author has highlighted that hotel industries tend to impose some specific job conditions on employees that reduces the motivational factors for performing well at the workplace. The job conditions include imposing for over time shift, unnecessary work pressure, customers unexpected behaviour and so on. Therefore, in order to motivate the employees, the business managers in hotel industries would have to maintain effective employee satisfaction rate. The fifth article, perceptions of organizational politics and hotel employee outcomes, has expressed the opinion that internal environmental factors and politics highly affects the entire process of business. The business managers in order to maintain an effective employee relation at the workplace sho uld avoid internal issues. Grissemann, Plank and Brunner-Sperdin (2013) commented that collective decision-making is one of the major sources of maintaining unity among the employees at the workplace. The sixth article, impact of employees motivation on organizational effectiveness is possessed with a higher significance. In this particular article, the author has pointed out that employee motivation is one of the major factors for receiving good performance. In order to motivate the employees, business organization can take some of the major initiatives that include organizing award ceremony, providing health and insurance facilities, providing addition incentives to the employees and so many. In the seventh article, the contribution of corporate social responsibility to internal employee motivation, the author has supported the point of view of the previous author. The article has mentioned that corporate social responsibility is one of the most effective strategies of motivating the employees towards organizational service process. At the same time the article, how transformational leadership and employee motivation combine to predict employee pro-environmental behaviours has portrayed a major vista on how appropriate leadership style is possessed with a huge impact on employee performance. The author opined in this article that transformational leadership enables the employees and employers for maintaining an effective communication (Karatepe, 2013). In the ninth article identification of variables affecting employee satisfaction and their impact on the organization, the author has pointed out the similar aspect of employee motivational factors like the fourth article. The last article, employeeorganization linkages: the psychology of commitment, absenteeism, and turnover, has concluded the effect of employee de-motivation and internal politics. In this particular article, the author has pointed out that absenteeism, and turnover is the necessary impacts of employee de-motivational factors. In order to reduce employee turnover in hotel industries, the author has suggested implementing some effective strategies at workplace that can encourage the employees to reach business goal. The business strategies include making collective decision, using participative leadership style at the workplace, maintaining effective communication with the employees. Qualitative research design: Research design is one of the most effective ways of research methodology with the help of which data can be collected from various source of information. In this particular research qualitative research design would be used. Qualitative research design tends to involve business managers for providing effective response regarding the particular research issue. An effective interview session will be conducted by involving the operational managers of recognized hotels of Australia such as Hilton, IHG, Marriot and Accor and so many (Grissemann, Plank Brunner-Sperdin, 2013). Qualitative research design provides an in-depth overview regarding the issues that business managers of Australian hotel industries have to face for maintain work culture of organizations (Jang George, 2012). Based on the data and information collected from hotel managers the research work would be conducted properly. Justification of chosen research design: For this particular research study, qualitative research design will be used instead of quantitative due to several reasons. In this specific research proposal, the feedback of business managers is highly needed in order to know how employees are facing difficulties within the hotel industries of Australia. With the help of qualitative research design, the data analysts can get immediate feedback from the participants (Line Runyan, 2012). At the same time, the data analysts would be able to make a direct communication with the respondents for collecting data. In this specific research, the study would like to involve 5 managers from different hotels of Australia for gathering data and information. Sample Sampling is the systematic process of collecting data and information with the help of statistical analysis amidst the large number of population. The domain of hotel industries of Australia is vast and wide (McManus, 2013). Therefore, while collecting the sampling technique the data analyst would focus on some of the recognizable hotels and their managers for collecting data. The hotels whom can be involved for gathering data and information from managers include Hilton, IHG, Marriot and Accor. Study of population The research issue in this particular study include the role of employee evaluation in the Australian business industry. In order to deal with this particular research issue the population involves the people who are associated with the hotel industries of Australia (Pegg, Patterson Gariddo, 2012). While collecting appropriate data and information, the study will like to involve only the business managers of hotel industries amidst the entire population. Sampling method Sampling method is constituted with two categories primarily that include probability sampling and non-probability sampling method. With the help of probability sampling method, data can be collected randomly. On the other hand, with the help of non-probability sampling method the data analysts like to involve a specific number of people for providing effective feedback regarding the research issue. For this particular research issue, the study would focus to choose non-probability sampling method in order to involve specific number of participants (Tajeddini Trueman, 2012). Only five business mnagers will be involved for collecting necessary data and information in order to accomplish the research proposal effectively. Data analysis method describe Coding is the systematic analytical process with the help of which both qualitative and quantitative form of data collection procedure can be characterised to facilitate analysis. Coding impliesthe transformation of data into a form understandable by computer software. However, coding is constituted with several categories that include Open coding, Axial coding and Selective Coding. For this particular research proposal, the study would focus to deal with Selective coding. Selective coding is one of the most effective stages of data analysis with the help of which the core issue of research is identified first and then abstracted (Sainaghi, Phillips Corti, 2013). After the identification, the empirically grounded theory is generated. However, in order to identify the primary issues on the importance of employee evaluation in the Australian hotel industries, the selective coding would be most effective for conducting the entire research properly (McLachlan, 2013).
